![]() The Universal RP thing is built in the Unity Editor so I cant give a link but the tutorial says it should be under Window-PackageManager- then you type in the search bar Universal RP and it should show up. (it also is a tutorial for how to use MagicaVoxel) Here is a link to the VoxelShop program tutorial I was using Also you need java to run this program which I think I am using Java 10 Here is a link to the VoxelShop program, I Tried using multiple versions of the program to see if that would fix the issue (the program would open and then close immediately after opening). I was able to open the Package Manager where the tutorial finds the Universal RP program but when I searched for it, it wouldn't show up. And when I went to use it, It wasn't there. The tutorial then said that if your file doesn't have color then use a Unity program called Universal RP to fix that. I did that and it had the same files as the tutorial but mine didn't have color and his did. But I did know that you can add files to the assets menu by dragging and dropping it from the file explorer to the assets window in the editor. When I went to do that I noticed my computer doesn't have a "Storage D:" section. I followed that tutorial which had him use the "Storage D:" section of the files menu (He is on windows and so am I). Then I found a tutorial that showed a new way to do it (3rd link under this Paragraph). After that I looked for other ways to import the Voxel Model. It might be quite hard to get the exact same results. Path tracing is a rendering technique which works completely different than the scanline-rendering engine used by Unity. When I downloaded the Most recent version of VoxelShop it would open and close Immediately, This happened for every version that I tried (1.8.26, 1.8.22, and 1.8.24), but if I exported the folder the file was in then tried it it would load but then crash. The MagicaVoxel website describes the tool as 'a free lightweight 8-bit voxel editor and interactive path tracing renderer'. The problem in more detail is that I used MagicaVoxel (Download here: ) and I made a Voxel model (3D pixel Art) and Then tried importing the file to unity in the assets tab, I first tried using VoxelShop because thats what the tutorial for MagicaVoxel used. All vertex information is stored in separate arrays of the same size, so if your mesh has 10 vertices, you would also have 10-size arrays for normals and other attributes." So I think I surmised that Colors would have values, if the. These are optional though and can be removed at will. Regardless, previously I'd noticed that mesh.Colors & mesh.Colors32 are empty, which threw me and then I saw this post, which kind of matches what you're saying, although it sounds a bit convoluted?Īnd the doco says "For every vertex there can be a normal, two texture coordinates, color and tangent. It was only because I saw an example somewhere that I discovered how to do this, is there a way to dump an asset's properties/methods etc at runtime, a bit like one would using JSON? This would help me understand the hierarchical structure much better.
